It displays an intense ruby red color, often enhanced by garnet highlights. On the nose, it expresses notes of dried red flowers, cherries, and dates, accompanied by herbaceous and mossy notes, creating a varied and persistent aromatic bouquet. On the palate, Kirnào offers good freshness, well-integrated tannins, and a lingering minerality, balanced by a light savory note that recalls the volcanic origins of the soil.

Pairings

This Etna Rosso is ideal to accompany roast meat dishes, game and hearty first courses, but it also pairs well with fish dishes such as fish soups.

Cellar - Nibali

The Nibali Winery is rooted in the Etna region's winemaking tradition, located in one of the most suitable viticultural areas in northern Etna, precisely between the picturesque towns of Passopisciaro and Castiglione di Sicilia. It is a family-run business that has been cultivating vineyards for over sixty years, but in recent decades it has specialized in the production of high-quality wines, focusing on native grape varieties that best represent the terroir.

The winery's vineyards extend across two renowned crus on Mount Etna: Feudo di Mezzo and Moganazzi. These vineyards are located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters above sea level, a unique environment characterized by volcanic soils, rich in minerals and lava ash, which give the wines extraordinary aromatic complexity and a pronounced minerality. The altitude and the temperature range between day and night favor slow ripening of the grapes, preserving freshness and aromatic intensity.

Nibali is passionately dedicated to producing Etna DOC, with a particular focus on Nerello Mascalese, the area's flagship grape, and Carricante for its white wines. The winery's philosophy embraces an artisanal and sustainable approach, where every stage of winemaking is meticulously managed, respecting natural rhythms and cycles. Vinification is traditional, using long macerations and aging in wood to enhance the varietal and terroir characteristics of the grapes.

The connection to the territory, the focus on sustainability, and the constant pursuit of authenticity make Nibali wines representative of Etna's great biodiversity and the volcano's unique soil and climate conditions. The company is now one of the ambassadors of Etna viticulture around the world, proudly representing the identity of the "Great Mountain" through wines that tell stories of passion, hard work, and respect for a rich and generous land.
