Sicilian lemon peel infusion

Limoncello del Principe is made from a careful selection of the finest lemons grown in the Sicilian hinterland and expertly crafted by hand. The ancient recipe of Il Principe calls for the use of a minimum of 250 grams of lemon per liter and the infusion of only the outermost part of the peel, rich in aromas and essential oils. Produced exclusively with natural ingredients, it is an excellent natural liqueur with digestive properties.

Principe di Corleone Limoncello is perfect with light, fresh desserts. It pairs beautifully with lemon-based desserts, such as sorbets, panna cotta, and tarts, enhancing their citrus notes. Also ideal as a digestif served chilled after a meal, it pairs beautifully with simple pastries, such as biscotti or almond biscuits. Its versatility makes it suitable both for enjoying neat and for enhancing cocktails with a touch of Sicilian freshness.

Cellar - Prince of Corleone

The Principe di Corleone Winery has its roots in the heart of Sicily, a land rich in history and winemaking tradition. Founded by the Pollara family, for decades this winery has maintained an approach that combines traditional methods with winemaking innovation, cultivating native grapes such as Nero d'Avola, Inzolia, and Catarratto, alongside international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The vineyards extend across hillsides immersed in the region's mild climate, between Corleone and Monreale, characterized by varied soils that impart unique aromatic complexity to the wines. Thanks to a combination of manual harvesting and modern technology, the winery meticulously manages every stage of production, enhancing the balance between acidity, structure, and aromas of the grapes. This commitment guarantees fine wines that represent an authentic expression of the Sicilian terroir and enjoy success both nationally and internationally.

Sicilian Lemons

There is great uncertainty about the precise origins of the lemon, although various accounts suggest that it originated in East Asia and was then spread, by the ancient Romans, to Italy and the rest of the world.

Following the decline of the empire, it was the Arabs who spread its cultivation throughout the Mediterranean.

Sicilian lemons grow year-round. They are exceptionally healthy: yellow on the outside and white on the inside, their tart, juicy flesh is known for its high vitamin C and essential oils. They are abundant throughout Sicily's provinces and are recognized as PGI (Protected Geographical Indication).
