Nerello Mascalese, Etna's iconic grape, is reinterpreted by Cantina Tornatore in a white version, creating the Spumante Brut "Valdemone." This sparkling wine undergoes initial fermentation at a controlled temperature and a second fermentation in a pressure tank using the Charmat method, with aging on the lees for at least four months. The result is a fresh and fragrant wine, with a minerality and savory character typical of Etna's volcanic soils. Try it with a seafood salad for a flawless aperitif!

Cellar - Tornatore
Sicily boasts one of the oldest winemaking traditions in Italy, with vineyards already growing there before the arrival of the Greeks, who made a significant contribution to the development of viticulture on the island.
Among Sicily's historic wineries, Cantina Tornatore stands out for its Etna roots, dating back to 1865. In 1910, Giuseppe Tornatore founded his winery in Piano Fiera with two hectares of vineyards, later expanding to Piano Felci, located on the northern slope of Etna. Here, on volcanic soils and benefiting from the influence of the Nebrodi Mountains, the climate favors a significant temperature range between day and night, ideal for perfect grape ripening.
With 46 hectares of vineyards located in renowned districts such as Pietrarizzo and Trimarchisa, Tornatore cultivates typical grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccino, Carricante, and Catarratto. Each year, the winery produces approximately 60,000 bottles of Etna Rosso, Etna Bianco, and Rosato, with a goal of reaching 400,000 bottles, aiming to represent the authentic essence of the Sicilian terroir.
