Ciuri di Terrazze dell'Etna was born in Randazzo, in the province of Catania, on our Sicilian island.
The pure Nerello Mascalese grapes for Ciuri di Terrazze dell'Etna come from vineyards located on the northwest slopes of Etna. Their altitude ranges from 700 to 950 meters above sea level, and the vines average 10 to 15 years old. The soil is volcanic in origin, with some gravel; it is dark in color, resulting from the disintegration of lava flows. The viticulture can be described as heroic, as the vineyards are located on ancient rural terraces restored through naturalistic landscaping, a condition that makes it difficult to intervene between the rows with machinery or animals. Harvest takes place in the second half of September; the red grapes are vinified as a white wine thanks to the immediate separation of the must from the skins through gentle pressing; the wine ages on the lees in stainless steel for eight months and in bottle for six months.

Tasting Notes
It has a bright straw yellow color with green highlights. The aromas on the nose evoke tropical fruit, rosemary, sage, thyme, and light salty nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and fresh, with a savory flavor that continues into the finish.
Pairings
Versatile, it pairs perfectly with raw or grilled fish dishes and fresh cheeses, making it ideal as an aperitif or to accompany the entire dinner. A balanced wine that elegantly represents the typicality of Etna.
Cellar - Etna Terraces
Located in Randazzo, within the Etna Natural Park, the Terrazze dell'Etna winery sits approximately 800 meters above sea level. Founded by Nino Bevilaqua, a Palermo-born engineer and wine enthusiast, the winery restored ancient terraces on the volcano's north slope to produce typical local wines. The estate now extends over approximately 36 hectares, comprising not only vineyards but also olive groves and forests of chestnut, cherry, and oak trees.
The vineyards, planted primarily with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccino grapes, also feature international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Petit Verdot. Every operation is carried out manually, with care and respect for the environment. Thanks to the expertise of winemaker Roberto Cotarella, production reaches approximately 160,000 bottles annually, divided into a dozen or so labels that showcase the character of the Etna terroir. Among the offerings, the fresh and minerally Metodo Classico sparkling wines also stand out, continuing the tradition of sparkling winemaking on Etna.
