Tasting Notes

The color is a deep golden amber, reminiscent of the Sicilian sunlight. On the nose, it offers a rich and expressive bouquet, with hints of ripe fruit, such as apricots, dried figs, and peaches in syrup, intertwined with notes of acacia honey and a subtle hint of sweet spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon. The sweetness of the dried grapes is accompanied by a surprising freshness, making the aroma enveloping but never overpowering. On the palate, the flavor is full-bodied and smooth, with a velvety texture that coats the palate. The wine's sweetness is well balanced by a light acidity that enhances its freshness and prolongs its finish. The aftertaste is intense and long, reminiscent of dried fruit, honey, and a delicate note of toasted almond.

Pairings

Perfect as a dessert wine, Zhara Passito pairs beautifully with Sicilian desserts such as cannoli, cassata, dried fruit tarts, and ricotta-based pastries. It's also an excellent choice to accompany aged cheeses, such as Sicilian pecorino, whose bold flavor perfectly contrasts the wine's sweetness. It can also be served as a meditation wine, ideal for enjoying on its own, perhaps during a relaxing moment.

Cellar - Prince of Corleone

The Principe di Corleone Winery has its roots in the heart of Sicily, a land rich in history and winemaking tradition. Founded by the Pollara family, for decades this winery has maintained an approach that combines traditional methods with winemaking innovation, cultivating native grapes such as Nero d'Avola, Inzolia, and Catarratto, alongside international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The vineyards extend across hillsides immersed in the region's mild climate, between Corleone and Monreale, characterized by varied soils that impart unique aromatic complexity to the wines. Thanks to a combination of manual harvesting and modern technology, the winery meticulously manages every stage of production, enhancing the balance between acidity, structure, and aromas of the grapes. This commitment guarantees fine wines that represent an authentic expression of the Sicilian terroir and enjoy success both nationally and internationally.

Moscato

Its origins date back to the Middle Eastern Mediterranean basin and it was the Greek colonists who spread it to Sicily.
Its name derives from "Muscum," meaning moss, whose characteristic aroma is found in the grape. The berries vary in size, are spherical, and yellow in color, shading to greenish and golden as they ripen in the sun. The grape is highly aromatic and is best grown on dry, marly, limestone-rich soils with little clay, in locations exposed to winds that keep humidity low. Ripening produces a high sugar concentration.
